Actor Playing Fake Psychic Learns From The Real Thing

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s common for actors to research their roles, but James Roday had a problem creating his character for the upcoming mystery show, Psych.

See, Roday’s character pretends to be a psychic and he had a hard time finding people who could help him with the role because, as he points out, “It’s tough to find psychics who admit they’re fake.”

So Roday hung out with people who claimed to have real psychic ability and in his words, “How they gather information is interesting because most of them believe they have the ability.”

Roday was especially intrigued to learn that many psychics get their impressions in certain body parts, and admits he may adopt that trait to his TV character -- but promises any such impressions will take place above the waist.

Psych, which also stars Dule Hill and Corbin Bernsen, debuts July 7 on the USA network.
