Ananda Lewis Talking About Vaginas On Thursday (Mar. 16)

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Ananda Lewis has got Vagina on the brain this week – as in The Vagina Monologues.

Lewis is one of many celebrities who will be performing a charity version of the controversial play on Thursday (Mar. 16), along with Rebecca Gayheart, Meredith Baxter and George Lopez cast member Constance Marie.

It’s a daunting task for Lewis, who, until recently, was the Los Angeles correspondent for The Insider. As she puts it, “I don’t consider myself an actress. I don’t have the training for it. Maybe someday I will.”

That means instead of talking about the vagina per se, she’ll be helping out with the introductions and some of the ensemble pieces and, in her words, “let people like Meredith Baxter do the acting.”

Although some have hinted that the rehearsals might turn into some giant catfight, Lewis says nothing could be further from the truth.

She insists, “Catfights are not a reality in Hollywood. It may be hard for some to believe, but women actually get along and like each other.”

Proceeds from the one-night-only performance of The Vagina Monologues will be donated to charities that raise funds and awareness to end violence against women.
