Smash Mouth Pounding The Pavement For New Drummer

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Smash Mouth is known for its 1998 hit “Walking In The Sun” but now the band is pounding the pavement looking for a new drummer.

The group recently got rid of stickman Michael Urbano and wants to find a replacement pronto.

Singer Steve Harwell says the chosen drummer not only has to have chops but “know how to have fun and be really real.” Being able to play and program drum pads is a major plus.

Although the band will consider all up-and-coming drummers, Harwell says “a road dog” with touring experience will get priority.

If all goes well, the new drummer will be behind the skins in mid-March and will tour to promote the group’s upcoming CD, Summer Girl, which will be released before – you guessed it – summer.

Interested applicants should a demo, resume and video to Smash Mouth c/o Sound Management Inc., 1525 South Winchester Blvd., San Jose, CA; 95128.
