Johnny Damon Offered $15 Grand To Shave Off Beard For Charity

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Baseball star Johnny Damon has just signed a $52 million contract to play for the New York Yankees and now he has a chance to earn $15,000 for charity just by shaving his trademark beard.

That’s how much Philips Norelco is offering Damon to shave off his beard, which he may have to do anyway, thanks to Yankees owner George Steinbrenner’s longstanding policy against beards.

In return, the company will cut Damon a deal by donating the 15 grand to his favorite charity.

Even better, Norelco Philips spokesman Edwin de Valk says the company will supply the razor and personally deliver it to him so he doesn’t have to deal with the current New York City transit strike.

But even if Damon decides against shaving off his beard, de Valk says the company is willing to give him a 6-in-1 groomer so he can trim his beard and moustache as well as his nose, ears and eyebrows.
