Jesus Is A Practical Joker On TV Show

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Lots of people see Jesus Christ in different ways but actor Aidan Quinn sees him as a practical joker.

Quinn plays an episcopal priest on the upcoming NBC drama, The Book Of Daniel, and the role requires him to have conversations with Jesus, who is portrayed by former Deadwood star Garret Dillahunt.

Although Quinn hasn’t spent much time off the set with Dillahunt, he admits, “I always smile when I see him because he’s such a practical joker.”

Quinn says Dillahunt does “irreverent takes on the humorous situation of him playing Jesus” but isn’t sure if the actor has tried to turn coffee into wine or other miracles.

The Book Of Daniel debuts Jan. 6 and while Quinn says his character’s conversations with Jesus are important to the show, he says they are “a byproduct, not the hook,” because it’s really a family drama.
