Queen and 50 Cent Mashed Up To Make ‘Q-Unit’

TURLOCK, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You may think mash-ups are a dime a dozen, but it’s hard to ignore a new set of songs featuring 50 Cent and Queen called Q- Unit.

Jimmy Lesondak – the college music student behind the mash-up – admits, “I like Queen a lot more than 50 Cent,” but thought the pairing would be interesting because, “You have 50 Cent talking about big guns and gang banging, and what Freddie [Mercury] says kind of complements what 50 is talking about...as in, Is this the real life? / Is this just fantasy?

Even though 50’s voice is more prominent in mash-ups like “Crazy Little Pimp Called Love,” “We Will Rock You In Da Club” and “Bohemian Wanksta,” Lesondak says, “The parts where Freddie does sing, I think it makes more of an impact.”

The mash-up is available at Q-Unit.net, and Lesondak says the music is legal because, “If you’re not selling it at all, it’s fair usage. Going into this I knew I wasn’t going to make a dime...or 50 cents.”
