The show debuts Sunday (Oct. 30) and features celebrities like Morgan Fairchild, Larry Holmes, Joe Pantoliano and Bai Ling tackling the microphone.
Zappa has heard some rehearsals and describes them as spectacular but hes staying away as much as possible because he wants his own reactions to be as fresh as the TV audiences.
From what Zappa can tell, the competitors are all trying as hard as possible but he admits, theyre all nervous. I hope they dont crack but some might.
Viewers will ultimately decide who is the best singing celebrity, but the initial performances will be judged by professional voice coaches, who Zappa says would be doing a disservice if they pulled a Paula Abdul and only said positive things.
