‘Weekly World News’ Turns A New Page In Bat Boy History

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If no news is good news, where does that leave the Weekly World News?

The tabloid that introduced the world to Bat Boy and broke headlines including Saddam & Osama’s Gay Wedding; Crop Circles Appear In Men’s Chest Hair; and Alien Body Snatchers Reject Paris Hilton has released a collection of the best of their stories in a new book called Bat Boy Lives! (Sterling).

David Perel, an executive vice president at WWN, says he’s stood in line at grocery stores and seen people pick up a copy of the paper and snicker, but he swears they’re not mocking it, they just have a devotion to their favorite characters and creatures.

Perel says while Bat Boy’s 15 minutes are over, editors are always looking for new creatures, like Spy Cat: a cat who was taught how to speak in a secret government lab and is currently on a mission in Iraq.

And what ever happened to Bigfoot? Perel says he was last seen rescuing a baby from a burning RV somewhere in the north west of America.
