Blues Traveler Singer Traveling To Record Stores

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The band Blues Traveler lives up to its name – at least in record stores.

Whenever lead singer John Popper is in a new town, he always visits businesses selling his records.

Popper says he has a set routine whenever he’s in the music section. He walks straight up to his own section since, as he puts it, “those are the only records I’m qualified to criticize” and he makes sure the newest release is in front.”

Some fans do recognize Popper popping around the B section, but he says it only happens “50 percent of the time.”

Popper is excited about his new CD, !Bastardos!, which hits stores today (Sep. 13), but admits it marks the end of an era. In his words, “I only listen to my own music before it’s released. You don’t want to come up to me in a car and hear me singing, ‘Runaround.’”
