Mary Steenburgen Won’t Quit Acting For 9 To 5 Job

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Mary Steenburgen says she’s never had any other job outside of acting. Until recently, that is.

Steenburgen is now a buyer for a Los Angeles home and garden store called Porch, and while she enjoys working at this “slightly strange green place,” she won’t be giving up her other day job of acting.

As she puts it, “No, that would be stupid! One of my jobs is a lot more lucrative than the other. And for me, in some ways, it would be like giving up breathing.”

She can breathe easy for now. This Wednesday (Sep. 14), Steenburgen will be honored with a Lifetime Career Achievement Award at The Temecula Valley International Film Festival.

Looking back on her career, Steenburgen admits, “I’ve made some real clinkers as well as good films.” She cites Clifford as a cinematic flop, but adds, “I laughed my head off the entire time with Martin Short.”

The actress is obviously happy about the award and she’s sure husband Ted Danson won’t feel any sort of jealousy over it. She explains, “He’s very secure. It’s one of his more maddening and attractive qualities.”
