NFL Insiders Speculate Whether Saints Have A Prayer

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hurricane Katrina did so much damage to New Orleans that even NFL insiders wonder if the Saints will have a prayer this season.

CBS Sportscaster Jim Nantz doesn’t want to rain on the Saints parade but says the big question about the team is whether or not they’ll be able to keep a fan base.

In his words, “I don’t know if [the Saints] will be able to go back and play there, but I hope they can.”

Meanwhile, Nantz’ co-anchor Phil Simms calls the situation “very fragile,” and says he’s anxious to see if the Saints will be able to transform the negative energy of the hurricane’s destruction into energy that helps them.

He admits though, “I think it would be hard to do.”

The Saints’ first game of the season will be on Sept. 19 against the New York Giants on ABC’s Monday Night Football, but Nantz and Simms will kick off CBS’ NFL season coverage this Sunday (Sept. 11).
