What’s In A Name? The Main Reason Benjamin Bratt Takes A Role

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – What’s in a name? Plenty if you’re actor Benjamin Bratt. It’s the main reason he accepted his latest acting role.

Bratt is the star of E-Ring, a new NBC drama set at the Pentagon and he plays Jim “J.T.” Tisnewski. The name is Polish and Bratt admits he was interested in the role after the creators told him they didn’t want to change the character’s name to something Hispanic.

A name like “Tisnewski” doesn’t exactly role off the tongue but Bratt says it makes a powerful statement that America is truly a melting pot and points out, “I’m half German and English myself.”

It might sound serious but Bratt promises light-hearted moments with lines like “Funny, you don’t look Polish.”

E-Ring, which also stars Dennis Hopper, debuts Sept. 21.
