The company is called DVDs Too and spokesman Walt Kaon says the idea is similar to Netflix DVDs delivered to your doorstep and returned via mail except the delivery mechanism is the pizza parlor.
But the concept is not pizza and a porno, or even pizza and Mystic Pizza.
Kaon says they provide the pizza companies with several copies of four to six new release DVDs at a time, and that the rental selection changes based on popularity. For example, he says National Treasure is dying so we replaced it with Million Dollar Baby.
Kaon has a booth set up at the New York Pizza Expo today (Aug. 3) and hopes pizza shops will buy the idea literally, at around $9 a DVD and begin asking hungry customers Do you want a DVD with that?
He expects to make lots of dough this winter, adding, When its 20 degrees and theres two feet of snow, do you want to start your car and drive to get a movie?
