Carlton Fisk Putting Health, Privates On Line For Pitch

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk doesn’t have to get down and block many balls in the dirt these days, but he might have to tomorrow (Jul. 22) in Chicago before the Boston Red Sox-Chicago White Sox game.

That’s because the 24-year-veteran is catching the first pitch from muscle-gifted but baseball-challenged Mr. T.

Fisk says he’s going to tell T to “just get it in the air.”

If he doesn’t, Fisk, who admits he won’t be wearing a cup protector, says he’ll “snag it” at all costs, although there’s a slight chance he’ll run out of the way.

Fisk is putting his health – and cajones – on the line to promote Hanes’ new Double Tough Socks, which will be given out to all fans in attendance.

While Fisk played for both the Red Sox and White Sox during his illustrious career, he says he doesn’t have a favorite, so he’s just going to “root for the Sox to win.”
