Overseas Soldiers Need Bling Too

MADISON, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – What do U.S. troops overseas like more than a surprise visit from Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey? Bling!

Gangsta Gold shop owner Christy Velez says that she gets orders all the time from soldiers needing bling-bling bullet chains, glitzy gold dog tags and shiny diamond medallions.

In fact, recently, a Navy SEAL sent her $900 for three sets of gold teeth.

Velez feels good about being a bling provider because, as she points out, “They can’t shop over there. All the towns are blown up.”

She says she always gets e-mails from service people saying they’re so happy when they finally get their air-dropped treasures.

Being a military brat, Velez says she’ll do anything she can to help. She also feels very indebted to the troops because, as she puts it, “Terrorists want to destroy our internet. Our soldiers have missiles and can protect it for us. Really, where would we be without the internet?”
