‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Star Curbs His Appetite

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’ll soon be seeing a lot less of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm sidekick Jeff Garlin – literally.

No, the burly comedian isn’t getting less screen time on the quirky HBO comedy, he’s in the process of shedding some major pounds.

Garlin kick-started his weight loss earlier this year at a Pritikin spa in Florida, and since losing 25 pounds, has planned a return trip which will start June 18.

The actor decided to lose weight after having a stroke and developing high cholesterol, but admits its been hard to change a lifetime addiction to “eating puddin’ and taking naps.”

He says his goal is to drop 75 more pounds and his pal Larry David has been one of his staunchest supporters, advising him to stop eating junk food from the snack table on set and sending his assistant to pick out healthier treats.

Unlike other flabby funnymen who’ve slimmed down, like Seinfeld villain Wayne Knight, Garlin doesn’t expect his weight loss to affect his career. As he puts it, “My funniness has nothing to do with me being heavy.”
