Alabama Country Singer Pens Bo Bice Tribute Song

NEEL, Ala. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Most entertainers have to die before they inspire tribute songs, but Bo Bice is ahead of the curve.

The American Idol finalist is now the subject of a tribute tune called “I’m A Big Ol’ Bo Bice Fan,” from Jeff Whitlow, a country singing welding supplies salesman in Neel, Alabama.

Whitlow wrote the tune based on the Alan Jackson song, “Meat And Potato Man,” and some of the lyrics include I don’t like caviar/ sushi bars/ Or Simon Cowell’s fancy cars/ I’m a Haggard man/ And a big ol’ Bo Bice fan.

Although Whitlow sings country, he says he likes Bice’s voice and how he hasn’t let Idol producers “change who he was. He still has the same clothes and the same hair.”

Whitlow doesn’t know if Bice has heard his tribute but he has given a copy to the singer’s grandmother and she “supposedly carried it to Los Angeles.”

If Bice doesn’t win the contest, Whitlow is willing to share the stage with him but admits, “I think I’d like to share HIS stage. It’s probably bigger than mine.”
