Constantine Maroulis’ Rock Group Releases Debut

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Fans of American Idol contender Constantine Maroulis will soon hear how he sounds in a rock group setting.

On May 10, Koch Records is releasing the self-titled debut of Pray For The Soul Of Betty, the metal band that Maroulis belonged to before he supposedly quit in order to audition for Idol – much to the dismay of the band’s drummer, who goes by the name Hamboussi.

However, Hamboussi says all the band conflict that was shown on Idol earlier this season was caused by “editing.” In his words, “I made it look like I was angry. I wasn’t upset. I knew what the show would do for the band.”

Hamboussi says he created the conflict in order to give Idol producers “what they wanted.”

Although Maroulis will still be tied to his Idol obligations when the Pray For The Soul Of Betty album is released, Hamboussi thinks the band will benefit from the show creatively as well.

In his words, “Constantine’s versatility will allow us to avoid being pigeonholed as just a rock band.”
