Rumor has it that Camillas great-grandmother, Alice Edmonstone, had a child after having an affair with Englands King Edward VII back in the late 19th century.
If this is true, then Camilla and Prince Charles are half second cousins once removed.
According to Ancestry.com, Camillas grandmother, Sonia Keppel, was the illegitimate child of the King. But since the kings name does not appear on Keppels birth certificate, its almost impossible to prove this claim.
However, Ancestry.com did find that Charles and Camilla are indeed ninth cousins once removed by their shared ancestor, Henry Cavendish, the second Duke of Newcastle.
Still, the couple has nothing to sweat about when they get married Saturday (Apr. 9), since once removed cousins are only related by marriage and not direct bloodline.
