Jim Nantz Better At Calling Final Four Than Picking Winners

ST. LOUIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz has been the announcer on more Final Four broadcasts than anyone else, but while he’s good at calling the games, he’s bad at picking them.

Nantz admits that every year he runs a bracket contest for the NCAA basketball tournament for charity in Fairfield County, Connecticut, where he makes his home.

Besides putting some of the proceeds to charity, he also donates money for every person that beats his personal picks.

But being a college basketball insider doesn’t necessarily make Nantz a big winner in “bracketology.” He admits that, this year, he will “be making out some rather healthy checks to charity.”

Nantz and partner Billy Packer will be courtside in St. Louis for the semi-finals tomorrow (Apr. 2) as well as Monday’s championship game (Apr. 4).
