Photographer Tells Beatles: ‘You Never Gave Me Your Money’

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A photographer in Vancouver, B.C., is singing a sad song to the Beatles: “You never gave me your money.”

On Wednesday (Mar. 30), photographer Roy Kerwood will file a motion in a British Columbia court against the Beatles and their Apple Corps. for using some of his photos in the 2000 book, The Beatles Anthology By The Beatles, but not crediting him.

Kerwood took the photos in 1969 during John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous “Bed-In” in Montreal and he says they were the only snaps taken on high-quality slide film.

Kerwood says he has given the Fab Four’s corporate reps ample opportunity to pay him and properly credit the photos. But even though Kerwood says he provided plenty of documents proving he was the photographer, execs simply responded they didn’t “believe him.”

Now, Kerwood is asking the Canadian court to award him a payment for each photo used in the book as well as payment for each copy sold. Experts estimate that amount could net him $22 million.

Kerwood says he plans to use any money he gets from the suit to set up a substance abuse database on the internet.
