Steve Carell: ‘Jon Stewart Made My Life A Living Hell’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Comedian Steve Carell plays a terrible boss in the upcoming NBC sitcom, The Office, and he didn’t have to look very far for inspiration, thanks to Daily Show host Jon Stewart.

Carell – a former correspondent on the comedy news show – claims Stewart made his life a “living hell” and says he’s “unkind” and “a vicious taskmaster.”

Even worse: Carell says every staffer on The Daily Show would “cower” when Stewart was around. More shocking: He claims Stewart won’t allow his underlings to make eye contact with him.

Although Carell no longer works with Stewart, his experience is giving him plenty of material for The Office and he describes his character as a combination of the “worst aspects of Homer Simpson and Donald Trump.”

The Office debuts on March 24 and will move to Tuesday nights starting March 29.
