The Biggest Award Show Acceptance Speech Blunders

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – God, politics and toilet paper aren’t welcome at the podium for any of the winners at this Sunday’s (Feb. 27) Academy Awards show.

That’s the word from movie fans themselves, who have named the most annoying blunders that celebrities commit when accepting awards in a new survey by the movie ticketing website,

Thirty-four percent of movie lovers say the absolute worst thing a winner can do is make a political remark a la Michael Moore, while 19 percent think it’s worse to be in the bathroom when they read your name off as the winner – which happened to actress Christine Lahti at the 1998 Golden Globes.

Twenty percent think it’s awful when stars read off a list of names of people they want to thank, while 11 percent are annoyed by religious references.

Finally, nine percent can’t stand when award recipients thank too many people and six percent think it’s bad when the winner forgets to thank their spouse – like Hilary Swank did when she won the Oscar for Boys Don’t Cry.
