‘X-Files’ Cast Member Creates Ice Pack For Laptops

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The word “cool” probably wasn’t used too often to describe Dean Haglund’s computer nerd character on The X-Files, but it is the word to describe his new invention for laptop computers.

Haglund, who played the long-haired, horn-rimmed techno-geek on the alien-riddled TV show, has invented a device called the Chill Pak which pops out of the freezer and lays underneath laptops to keep the computers from overheating.

It has another, more personal purpose: to keep mens’ gonads cool so their sperm count is high.

Haglund stumbled onto the idea when he was nursing a knee injury and watching a DVD on his player at the same time. The player overheated and stopped, until it came in contact with is ice pack and began playing.

He says, “It was a ‘Watson, come here I need you’ moment.”

Haglund says he’s going in for knee surgery soon, and jokes the window of inventing opportunities might be closing.
