LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Daytime soap icon Eric Braeden has been on the clock for 30 years – and in the same dressing room.

This year marks Braeden’s 30th anniversary playing Victor Newman on The Young And The Restless.

Along with holding down the job since 1980, he’s kept the very same dressing room since his first day on set.

Over the years he’s moved couches, books, and exercise equipment into his space, but he’s never added any personal touches like pictures or memorabilia.

That’s because Braeden thinks an actor should never get too comfortable in one place, as showbiz is mighty “fleeting.”

In fact, when he first took the role he only planned on staying for three months. He didn’t like the schedule because it was so fast and stressful.

Three decades later – and a near-permanent exit from the soap last year – Braeden is still getting to know his character.

He adds, “There’s always another woman lurking around [for Victor].”
