Richard Simmons Tames The Tiger

Monday, February 15, 2010 17:26 GMT

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Richard Simmons has earned his stripes as a fitness guru by keeping his demons in check.

Tomorrow (Feb. 16), the flamboyant health icon will appear on the 100th episode of The Dr. Oz Show and give 100 tips on staying fit.

He’ll also teach Dr. Oz and the audience a few moves from his workout classic, Sweatin’ To The Oldies.

Simmons says he’s managed to battle the bulge all these years by remaining peppy, focused, and “taming the tiger.”

He refuses to give into junk food cravings and negative thoughts, remembering “mind over fatter” in moments of weakness.

Simmons also relies on the power of dancing and rhinestones.

He sweats to the oldies regularly because the workout feels “like a party” and loves getting dolled up in is signature sparkly outfits for exercise sessions.

He urges all of his fitness students to deck themselves out for class and take the time to “look cute” just like he does.
