Demand Soars For `Jersey Shore' Duck Phone
Wednesday, February 3, 2010 17:30 GMT
EMMAUS, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Thanks to the guidos from Jersey Shore, phones shaped like ducks are flying off the shelves. In the popular MTV series, the roommates make all of their phone calls using a novelty duck phone that quacks instead of ringing.
According to Bob Vaughan from noveltytelephone.com, demand for the duck phone is soaring with the success of the show.
Vaughan got a call from the owners of the actual house where Jersey Shore was taped requesting 5,000 duck phones.
Unfortunately, the phone is no longer in production so Vaughan referred them to the original manufacturers, KNG America.
He thinks theres a good possibility they may produce the duck phones again because of their modern rise in popularity.
Until then, Vaughan says eBay is the only place to get an authentic duck phone.
People have gone so quacky over the telephones, vintage models are going for upwards of $500.
