George Lucas Is A Tease

DENVER (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Star Wars creator George Lucas is like a bad boyfriend – he constantly toys with fans’ emotions.

The filmmaker’s long, dysfunctional “love/hate relationship” with fans is the subject of Alexandre Philippe’s documentary, The People Vs. George Lucas, out this spring.

Devoted fans around the world are mostly pissed about the little changes Lucas has made in the Special Editions, and that he refuses to restore the original flicks.

Philippe says diehards commonly gripe about the 1997 Special Edition of Episode IV, when Greedo shoots Han Solo but misses.

In the original, Han Solo shoots first.

Though it’s a minor change, many argue that Lucas didn’t need to go there and only altered the scene to screw with fans.

Because of the teasing, Philippe says many fans consider modern-day Lucas a villain, like Darth Vader himself.

The weird thing is, no matter how bad Lucas hurts them or how much fans trash him, “both sides keep coming back for more.”
