Actor Carlos Alazraqui, of Reno 911! fame, provided the voice for Gidgets famous one-liner, Yo Quiero Taco Bell, in the late 90s advertisements.
However, he was brushed to the side and the dog was the one who reaped the fortune and notoriety.
Though Alazraqui was responsible for half her fame, it was Gidget who got invited to red carpets and landed Hollywood roles.
In fact, Alazraqui didnt even get free food from Taco Bell for his voiceover, but did get swag like Gidget dolls, calendars, and magnets that he holds dear now that shes dead.
The duo met once on the set and Alazraqui admits the doggy diva was stand-offish, possibly upset at being voiced by a man.
Hes accepted that Gidget earned her limelight and he and his barrio chihuahua voice were merely accessories.
