According to Bobby Gleason, one of the worlds fastest bartenders and master mixologist for Beam Global, bowls of punch are the latest craze in holiday cocktails.
Since hosts dont want to be stuck behind the bar mixing drinks all night, many are turning to batch recipes instead, making big bowls of spiked punch for parties.
This allows guests to serve themselves and mingle as they visit the cocktail table.
Another holiday drink trend are Mad Men-inspired cocktails from the 1960s, such as Hot Toddys and Manhattans.
Gleason says Red Stag by Jim Beam, a black cherry-infused bourbon, is a good way to introduce rookies to a classy Manhattan cocktail.
He also suggests hosts offer champagne as a mixer and make sure the ice blocked, cubed, or crushed is just right, cold, hard, clean, and dry.
