McRib: A Cult Classic

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – McDonalds’ mythical McRib sandwich has officially reached cult status, all thanks to the sauce.

According to Erik Trinidad, creator of, the McRib – a boneless pork sandwich shaped like ribs – owes its cult following to the barbecue sauce it’s generously slathered in.

He says that without the special sauce, it would be nothing more than a oddly textured, bland sandwich and that anyone could make at home by pouring BBQ sauce over a regular hamburger patty.

However, this solution would merely be a compromise, since nothing can match the authentic McRib experience.

Trinidad, who specializes in making fancy dishes out of cheap fast food, thinks he could really class up the McRib.

He’d make a shredded pork-themed dinner garnished with lettuce perfect for a luau, and serve it alongside frozen mai tais with umbrellas, using only the finest Hi-C as a mixer.
