Bailout Becomes A Board Game

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The government bailout plan is nothing but a game – literally.

Shari and Jordy Sopourn are the creators of Bailout! The Game, a comedic board game where the goal is to lose the most money to receive the bailout.

Players pretend to be a chief financial officer of a bank whose institution is hanging on by a thread.

They navigate the stock and housing markets, avoid “hostile takeovers,” and face “sales and acquisitions” until they get a bailout.

The Sopourns created the game to explain the financial crisis to their kids.

Since then, it’s become popular with everyone from business owners to bankers, who think it’s hilarious even if it pokes fun at them.

Shari says the game touches on topics like bankruptcy, Ponzi schemes, and even Joe The Plumber.

Since the object is to lose money, there’s no real way to cheat, unless, of course, you’re a politician.

They hope it becomes the Monopoly of these times.
