Dan Abbate was tired of seeing his small, skinny wiener roll off his plate at barbecues, so he solved his meat problem by creating the Big Ass Hot Dog.
On bigasshotdog.com, tailgaters can order a 16-inch, seven- pound hot dog that can be sliced into any shape, giving wiener lovers a mouthful of meat without the worries.
Abbate says fans are simultaneously mesmerized and frightened by the hearty dogs, and though they can serve up to 50, some people take on the wonder wiener one-on-one.
The company is looking to create a Big Ass Kit complete with humongous hot dog, bun, ketchup, and mustard to enable at-home eating competitions.
Though it seems hard, Abbate is sure someone out there can down the oversized wiener, especially competitive eaters who stuff themselves for a living.
