Beer Good For Fine Dining?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Beer is the new wine, and suds are moving way beyond the chicken wings.

Christina Perozzi, beer sommelier and co-author of THE NAKED PINT: An Unadulterated Guide To Craft Beer (Perigee), says beer is classy and can be paired with delicacies just like wine.

Craft beers – richer, fuller brews made with high-quality ingredients – can even be aged to perfection.

Perozzi says craft beers range in flavor from “citrus and chocolate, to cherry and nutty,” and are best served in a big wine glass so there’s more room for the aromatic brews to open up.

Like a good merlot, some suds taste better at room temperature, which brings out their flavor.

Perozzi says craft beers are being widely used in tastings and fine dining. They pair well with foods that are “notoriously difficult” to match with wines.

She suggests folks take “baby steps” into the world of craft beer, starting by tailgating with better brews.
