Artists Claudia Ficca and Davide Luciano are solving the pothole problem in their hometown of Montreal by finding creative, functional ways to cover them up.
They added a diving board to one pothole, turning it into a mini swimming pool, filled another with ice to keep beers cold, and used one for grape stomping to make a fine street wine.
Ficca says filling potholes with something like flowers benefits the city because it makes the street prettier.
However, Luciano admits having a swimming pool in the middle of the road isnt the best idea.
The duo agree that their project turns a positive into a negative since it gets people to actually smile and laugh over annoying potholes.
Though they hope to get the city to address the problem, they dont want all the potholes fixed so they can continue to play.
