Cigarette Packs Are Poetic

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A pack of cigarettes can be poetic.

British artist Kyle Van Blerk brings culture to smoking with his series of “Cigarette Pack Haikus.”

Van Blerk uses Wite-Out to remove letters from the disclaimer on cigarette packs that he’s collected in his work desk over the past few months and forms haikus.

One pack reads: “King. Sly arms. Hers. Around you.”

He admits it’s “quite tricky” to come up with a new haiku for all the packs he’s amassed, but does his best not to be repetitive with the letters and words he chooses.

He’s even come up with haikus for smokes from Germany and Spain, and plans on continuing with other countries’ cig packs.

Van Blerk thinks that his project makes smoking a more poetic and sophisticated experience, since people can dazzle those around them with their literary hard packs.
