Hooray, Foam Finger Sales Up

INDIANA, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s something to root about: Despite the recession, sales of foam fingers are on the up and up.

According to Larry Rice, owner of foamhands.com, the sporting event staple is still No. 1 among fans, especially during football season.

Rice attributes the steady sales to foam fingers being an affordable alternative to pricey banners or jerseys at football games.

It’s a festive, highly-visible way to cheer on a team and since it’s soft, it can’t hurt anyone.

This is particularly good since football fans tend to be a few beers deep while rooting at games.

Rice says the classic “pointer finger” is still the most popular foam for fans, though some branch out with models like a foam “thumb’s up,” five-finger mitt, or plush paw, depending on their team.

Foam fingers even come in handy as party favors.

Rice once made a bunch of them for Tiger Woods’ birthday bash.
