92-year-old Barbara Cooper has become the hottest restaurant critic in Southern California through Yelp.com, where she posts reviews about eateries in L.A. with the help of her granddaughter Kim Cooper.
Kim says people love her granny’s reviews because of her “unique voice” that stands out among the young, hip writers who worry more about where it’s cool to eat rather than where it’s good to eat.
Also, Barbara gives restaurant tips that only a woman of her age and experience could know.
Kim explains, “She knows all about cutting corners and getting the restaurant to give you more of something without having to pay for it.”
For example, Barbara advises friends and couples to order off all-you-can-eat menus so they can switch plates and get an unlimited amount of whatever their companion is having.
