Play The Game is a romantic comedy about a young ladies man that teaches dating tricks to his widowed grandpa, in theaters today (Aug. 28).
Writer/director Marc Fienberg says the comedy starring Andy Griffith proves that seniors still have active love lives.
In fact, it was inspired by his very own 89-year-old widowed grandpa who once confessed that he kissed a girl and then asked Fienberg for dating tips.
Fienberg says elderly retirement homes are much like college dorms, where folks flirt in common areas in hopes of scoring dates.
Senior studs have the whole old-time chivalry thing down, so theyre pretty good at charming the ladies.
Fienberg hopes that his movie which includes a fidgety octogenarian sex scene helps everyone accept that old people do it.
He says, The same thing young kids do in movies, old people do behind closed doors.
