The Oscar-nominated actress plays a pushy mom in Acceptance, a movie about the pressures of college admissions premiering this Saturday (Aug. 22) on Lifetime.
Cusack admits that her college acceptance experience wasnt nearly as overwhelming as what kids go through today.
In fact, she only vaguely recalls rushing to check the mail or stressing over acceptance essays when applying to her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Thats because her dad, actor Dick Cusack, made college sound so fun, she went because she wanted to, not because she had to.
On the advice of Dad, Cusack attended college to become more worldly and well-rounded, even though shed already broken into showbiz.
When its time for her own kids to start thinking about college, Cusack thinks shell be laid back and let them pick their own paths.
