That’s what Stephen Notley proves in his long-running comic, Bob The Angry Flower, about a pissy “daisy- dandelion-sunflower crossbreed” that hates absolutely everything.
Notley says it’s a “cliche stereotype” to think that all flowers are happy, and argues, “Flowers can be genocidal murderers too.”
His comic creation, for instance, kills a dog in one strip, hates ponies and babies, and gripes about people who don’t use grammar or punctuation marks correctly.
Notley says Bob isn’t the kind of flower you’d want to give to a girlfriend or mom in a bouquet, because, frankly, the bitter blossom would probably go off on them.
But while Bob is angry about “any given aspect of existence,” there is at least one thing that makes him happy.
The flower loves the alien time-traveler series Doctor Who, and once dumped a date for not liking the sci-fi show.
