This week, members of the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) are brushing elbows with lawmakers at the National Conference of State Legislatures in Philadelphia, and believe it or not, theyre dressed to impress.
According to Carolyn Hawkins of AANR, nudists wear business attire to the event to prove that they can be professional.
She says most nudists live by the mantra nude when possible, clothed when practical, and clean up nicely.
Still, after a few days in clothing at the conference, most of their reps cant wait to strip down and get back on the beach.
During the event, AANR reps hand out commemorative lapel pins, which have become collectibles.
Because theyre clothed, they too can pin it on their lapels.
Hawkins says the pins lure people to the AANR booth, where they can learn more about the nudist lifestyle.
In fact, several lawmakers have ended up joining the AANR after the conference.
