According to Iranian-American actor, writer, producer, and director David Diaan, the youth of Iran is braver and more politically active than ever, and today’s protests will yield future leaders.
Diaan – who’s screening and hosting a panel for his Iranian immigrant film America So Beautiful today (Jul. 15) in Santa Monica, California – says it’s a “brilliant time for Iran” because the country is on the brink of change.
Despite the brutal regime, young students are coming forward to criticize the government and demand their freedom, and Diaan says one of these youths is bound to be the “Obama of Iran.”
Diaan calls the situation in his homeland “irreversible” because citizens have been oppressed long enough.
With so many youngsters finally speaking out and the world watching intently, the Iranian fight for rights can only move forward.
