Dylan McDermott Wants In With Cops

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Dylan McDermott may have finally found a way to get out of traffic tickets.

McDermott – best known for his work on The Practice – plays a high-ranking undercover cop on TNT’s new gritty drama, Dark Blue, premiering tomorrow (Jul. 15).

He’s excited for the show to air because he figures the role will get him in good standing with cops – a much-needed perk.

McDermott admits to frequently getting traffic tickets and would love it if cops eased up on his driving upon recognizing him from Dark Blue.

He’s making moves to befriend officers by working closely with real undercover cops for the series, who have taught him that the police profession is a true “labor of love.”

After witnessing the “wariness” in officers’ eyes McDermott can see how the job could really burn someone out. Still, he likes to believe he’d rise to the challenge if the force needed him.
