Though the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett have made their memorabilia increase in value, senior appraiser Robert Connelly says the late Billy Mays products will always be cheap.
Many people are buying all the Mays represented products they can get their hands on, but Connelly calls them collectible amateurs.
He explains, His products were common household products, not something people collected. Theres no market value for Billy Mays. He was a heck of a salesman, but 20 years from today whos gonna know who Billy Mays was?
Those whove run out to buy As Seen On TV goods sold by Mays on his famous infomercials, like Mighty Putty and OxyClean, are riding the hope train to nowhere since the products will never go up in value.
In fact, Connelly calls the excitement around Mays stuff just a fad that wont last more than 20 days.
