Diva Tantrums Don’t Relieve Stress

DURHAM, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Attention Susan Boyle: Temper tantrums don’t relieve stress.

Upon losing Britain’s Got Talent this past Saturday (May 30), frumpy singing sensation Susan Boyle threw a diva tantrum backstage, badmouthing the show and throwing water on a crew member.

Sources say overwhelming pressure caused the fit.

According to stress expert Dr. Redford Williams of Duke University Medical Center, temper tantrums aren’t an efficient way of relieving stress when someone snaps.

Instead of easing her, the diva tantrum probably got SuBo even more riled up, since Williams notes that throwing something like a plate or water in the heat of the moment makes people more aggressive.

Williams says the best options during stressful meltdowns are to go for a run, take deep breaths, meditate, and talk yourself down.

Though Boyle’s breakdown wasn’t healthy, Williams says it’s to be expected given her whirlwind thrust into the spotlight after being a shy, sheltered woman for so long.
