Band Rocks Out With The Sound Out

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One bizarre band prefers to rock out without actually listening to themselves.

Cover band Legion of Rock Stars jam out classic rock tunes while wearing headphones blasting the song they’re playing so they can’t hear themselves.

The results are hilarious, warbly, out of sync renditions of Led Zeppelin’s “Pinball Wizard” or the Rolling Stones’ “Under My Thumb.”

Band founder Tom Mott says the band’s headphone method makes it “impossible to sound good,” which he thinks makes the songs better than the originals.

He says, “We listen to ourselves and crack up. In 10 years, we’ve never gotten better.”

Mott calls rocking out a “pure pleasure process” even though they’re often tricked into thinking they’ve mastered a song.

He explains, “When we have our headphones on, every song sounds perfect. You feel your vocal chords vibrating but you hear Robert Plant coming out and you think, ‘Wow awesome! I nailed that!’ Then you hear it back and it’s terrible.”
