Love, Mom: Poignant, Goofy, Brilliant Messages From Home (Hyperion), is a book co-written by Jessica Grose that explores the funny texts and emails tech-challenged moms send to their adult children.
According to Grose, moms messages run the gamut, but no matter how weird, theyre all underlined with love.
Through messages on her website postcardsfromyomomma.com, Grose has learned that moms are random, honest, and hilarious.
She says a topic moms really like to talk about in emails is menopause and colonoscopies, even if they delve into awkward territory.
For instance, one momma email read: Finally...Its Official...I am in the transition stage to menopause. Isnt that exciting? Now I have an excuse to be a beaatch.
Moms also enjoy sending recipes, scolding their kids about the risque content on their Facebook page, and telling them about that strange dream they had.
Says Grose: One mom sent an email about this dream she had where her dentist turned into Javier Bardem.
Love, Mom hits shelves today (Apr. 1).
