Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville is a spiritual center and community located within the woods of Buckingham, Virginia, which opens up its doors and arms to those who have lost their jobs and their path in the world.
Spokesperson Lakshmi Barsel says, People do come here because of disasters in their life. Our doors are always open. The people who come here whove lost their jobs can find out what they want to do in life and who they are.
For $300 a month, people can live and even work in the yoga haven and get the guidance they need to plan their next step.
Its no party, however, since alcohol, smoking, or drugs are banned from the premises, and doing lots of yoga and eating vegetarian meals is mandatory.
Finding a new job may also be tough, since theres no Internet, television, or phones, but Barsel says the feeling of peace people get there makes it all worthwhile.
