‘Idol’ Finalist Forgives Ryan Seacrest’s High Five Slip

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Vision impaired Idol contender Scott MacIntyre is used to missing out on high fives.

MacIntyre – who was declared a Top 12 finalist on American Idol this past Wednesday (Mar. 4) – suffers from tunnel vision and admits he often misses when people try to high five him.

This happened to Ryan Seacrest on Idol a few weeks back, when he tried to give MacIntyre a congratulatory high five, but was met with nothing on the other end.

He explains, “That has happened to me my whole life, so it was really funny when Ryan did it.”

MacIntyre says Seacrest “did the right thing” by grabbing his hand and guiding the high five along, and says the host is often really helpful to him backstage.

Despite the high five faux pas, Seacrest’s move wasn’t as bad as a guy who tried to “fist pound” MacIntyre for “like five minutes” during the Idol auditions in Arizona, not realizing he couldn’t see.
